When your team is in the Super Bowl or you find out you’re having a baby or you got into the school of your dreams, you find that coming up in a lot of your conversations. It’s exciting to share good news. Yet, when it comes to life and freedom in Christ, we have the best news ever, but find it hard to share. Why should we share? What can it mean for your life — and for others?

Relationships can be messy. People don’t live up to our expectations. They don’t follow through on their promises. They don’t always seem very deserving of our love or forgiveness. So why are Relationships one of our top five most important distinctives at Blue Ridge? As you get to know the people in your work, it’s natural that you would share more and more of your life with them. That includes your faith. But how do you start that conversation in a way that honors God’s story and the person you’re sharing with?

When you start a conversation with someone, it’s good to have a starting point. This is especially true when it’s a deeper conversation. As we continue our Business On Mission series, we look at how we meet people where they are.

When you hear that such and such business is run by Christians, what is your reaction? Do expect more or less? Is that how it should be? As Christ-followers, should we work any differently than anyone else?

At work, we can spend a lot of time getting tasks done. But some of the greatest business leaders have found that just getting work done isn’t enough. Chick-fil-A's founder Truett Cathy once said said, "We aren't in the chicken business, we are in the people business.” What would it look like to be in the people business? What difference would it make?

Throughout history, there have been great thinkers and researchers trying to figure out this complex and sometimes baffling world we live in. The tension for people of faith is that those explanations about how things work sometimes explain away a Creator God. So how do we view this? Science versus God? Logic versus faith? This week we look at how we might fire the gød who hates science.

Where is God when I’m going through something difficult? Does He care that my spouse left? That my child is sick? That my job is in jeopardy? That I’m depressed? In the midst of the pain of real life, where is God?

All we need is love. And to be a little more accepting of each other. That’s the kind of thing a gød of tolerance would ask of us. But is that what the God of the universe wants from us?

Think of the last conversation you had with God. What did you talk about? Was it a list of requests? What did you ask for? If we mainly see God as an order-taker, are we missing something?

As we celebrate Easter, let’s take a step back. What exactly are we celebrating? Who is it we really believe in? Who is it that we’re really trying to please? Could it be that we’re following the gød we can't satisfy? Find out if you need to "fire your gød."

The debts keep piling up. Home feels more like a battleground than a refuge. That job offer never comes. Sometimes things feel pretty hopeless. When hope seems far away, what can we practically do next?
