We talk about love all the time. We love our family, our friends, our basketball team … our potato chips. So maybe we throw that word around a little too much. Let’s look a little deeper to know what it means to love and how we can love better.

One of the biggest reasons people say they don’t want anything to do with religion is that they don’t see people living what they say they believe. The word hypocrite comes up a lot. Why is that? Was it different in Jesus’ day? Join us as we explore Faith, Love, and Hope.

There’s a reason we all love a fireplace, a warm cup of coffee, and flannel. They’re comfortable. But God put something in our hearts that thankfully keeps us from just hunkering down on our cozy couches. He built us for adventure, to take risks and play a part in a bigger story. Maybe you’re a rule follower. Or maybe you’re not. But either way, you probably have some preconceived notion that following the rules is the right thing to do, and maybe even that you’re a better person for it. But when it comes to our faith, we may find that rules are things we use to put God in a box. This week we look at how grace busts open that box and shows us how we can live in relationship rather than in rules.

Get it together! Clean up your act. We all just want to be better. And if we are better, maybe we can earn God’s favor. Thus, we strive. And exhaust ourselves. Are you tired of trying to be perfect? Is there any hope for us who just can’t seem to get it together?

What did Jesus do when an unclean woman touched His robe? How did He respond to the leper? When challenged to judge a woman caught in adultery, how did He react? What would a face-to-face encounter with Jesus really look like?

Not all fear is bad. Some fear actually helps to move us in the right direction. What does this look like? What should be feared?

So how do you live without fear of the next broken appliance, car problem or unexpected medical bill? Learn how to find freedom from financial fears.

When we asked what your greatest fears are, the second largest category centered on those you love most — your family and friends. Whether worries of a spouse walking out to a loved one dying, these fears can be paralyzing. How do we begin to be free of these relational fears?

Remember the feeling you had in school when you confidently raised your hand to answer a question only to find out that you were wrong? The looks on the other kids’ faces. The teacher’s frown. Who wants to relive that humiliation? Last week, when you were asked to name your worst fear, the majority of you said you were afraid of failure. This week we explore how to step out, risk failing and find freedom.
