Berlin has long been Savaggio’s base, but nomadism is perhaps a better description of his musical geography. His sets move between live strings, electronic rhythm and improvisation, with the violin functioning less as an ornament than as another voice within the groove. He calls the approach “deepstring”. Savaggio’s history with Magician On Duty dates back to 2021, when he joined Canadian producer Kostiya for Ellipsis, a collaborative EP built around dubby textures, fragmented strings and melodic house. The release also featured remixes from Wareika and Ki Ya Tori, marking an early meeting point between Savaggio’s live instrumentation and the label’s psychedelic, organic side.
