Philip Yancey has been a great friend and mentor for me for years. (Replay of Season 7, Episode 40) Getting to talk to Richard Foster last week made me think of my friend Philip Yancey, and how our last talk on the podcast was so inspiring. I thought I’d bring this great talk back to you today as a bookend to the Richard Foster episode.  Philip’s books have helped millions of us search out the path to faith and hope again after life brings us pain. He’s one of the first people who gets a call when something terrible happens- Sandy Hook, Virginia Tech, Columbine- because he helps people honestly answer the questions such tragedies provoke, and to find hope again.  Philip was recently diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease, a neurodegenerative disorder that causes a variety of issues with postural control, balance, steadiness and speed of movement, tremor, and other issues.
