In the 12th episode of “From the Panther Pit” for the 2019-2020 school year, Sports Editor Ben Barkley and Staff Writer Daniel Stackhouse sit down to talk about the early success of spring sports. The two discuss lacrosse, soccer, track, and baseball. Also included are interviews with boys’ lacrosse coach Jeff Schmidlkofer, girls’ lacrosse coach Mary Lehman, junior keeper Andrew Cole, and senior outside back Chloe Spradlin.

The speech and debate team at Starr’s Mill continues to impress. Team coach Terence Fitzgerald talks with The Prowler about this year’s successes and key members of the team.

On Feb. 22, the Starr’s Mill academic team competed in the state Academic Bowl competition after placing first in the region. Last season went down in the books as the worst in school history. However, they bounced back this year, finishing fourth in state.

The two start with a tribute to Kobe Bryant, followed by talking swimming, basketball, soccer, lacrosse, and baseball. Also included are interviews with boys’ basketball coach Josh Reeves, girls’ soccer coach John Bowen, and new boys’ soccer coach Aaron Buck.

In the third episode of “Pinch of Positivity,” News Editor Mary Jane Gagliano presents some of the ideas that class of 2006 alumna and U.S. women’s soccer player Kelley O’Hara shared with her in a recent phone interview. Mary Jane also discusses her key word for 2020.

In the eighth episode of “From the Panther Pit” of the 2019-2020 school year, Sports Editor Ben Barkley and Staff Writer Daniel Stackhouse recap the first few weeks of winter sports actions of the second semester. The two recap the recent performances of the wrestling, swimming, and boys’ and girls’ basketball teams. Included are interviews wrestling coach Andrew Garner, girls’ basketball coach Emily Sweeney, boys’ basketball head coach Josh Reeves, sophomore basketball player Malachi Townsend, and senior basketball player Alice Anne Hudson.

The PTSO wrapped gifts for teachers and faculty members for their Christmas gift this year. Through this wrapping, they save the teachers and faculty time which they can spend with their family over the break.

The two discuss swimming and basketball, the end of football season, and their favorite moments from the past semester. Also included are interviews with girls’ basketball head coach Emily Sweeney, boys’ basketball head coach Josh Reeves, football head coach Chad Phillips, football defensive coordinator Jeff Schmidlkofer, and senior running backs Ben Bodne and Kalen Sims.

The Starr’s Mill eSports program is underway in its first year of action. Click the image above to get caught up with the early success the eSports program has manufactured. Two teams will host matches at Starr’s Mill while four others will travel to other schools later today. All matches are set to start at 4 p.m.
