Revelation 17. Once again God draws back the veil to give John, and us, an insight in the things to come and the deceptive nature of human systems that appear so attractive but which deliver only death.

Habakkuk 4:1-4. Where is God when everything seems to be going wrong? As so many of us do the prophet Habakkuk wrestles with this question, but ultimately finds peace in God's faithfulness and sovereignty.

Revelation 16:1-21

Revelation 15:1-8. In John's vision God finally calls time on world history characterised by unholiness and unrighteousness - the day of reckoning has come and the presence of sin is about to be removed from creation.

2 Corinthians 5:17-21.

Revelation 14. John's vision moves from assurance of Christ's victory shared with the redeemed, to the certain fall of a godless world and the judgement that will follow.

Off the Fence

Revelation 13:11-18. John sees in his vision that there are earthly authorities, and systems of governance, that promise freedom by usurping the authority of God. Its the age old deception that began in the Garden of Eden and Christians must resist it.

Luke 15. June Mclellan was the guest speaker at our first Ladies Night. She spoke from the parables that Jesus told about a lost sheep, a lost coin and a lost son, and about how there is rejoicing in heaven when we come home to our Heavenly Father.

Revelation 13:1-10. John's vision moves on to address the threat posed by the Roman Empire and the challenge of ungodly authority. The message of course is timeless and the church in every generation must be able o read the signs of the times.

Acts 22:6-16. Saul 'the worst of sinners' finds that his life is transformed after an encounter with Jesus, and not as a prerequisite for being able to do so!

Revelation 12.

Revelation 11:15-19. John is shown a vision of God's final victory over sin and death, when Jesus returns, judgement comes and a perfect eternity begins.

Revelation 11:1-14. Persecution of the church is inevitable and will be severe. But take heart! Christ has overcome the world and the church will emerge triumphant.

Revelation 10.

Revelation 9. The consequences of evil in the world are truly appalling. But the book of Revelation continues to reveal God's purposes in allowing it and reassuring us that one day all evil will be removed from the world.

Revelation 8. A God of love must also be a God who judges, because he loves good and hates evil. Today we explore these themes and discover again the treasure that is grace.

Isaiah 9:7. This is our key verse for 2019 'Of the increase of his government there will be no end.' What will that look like in our individual lives and corporate life together, and what can we do to ensure that His Kingdom does keep expanding in our lives?

Luke 15:11-32. Finding our true identity in Christ as children and not slaves.

With readings from Genesis, Isaiah and Luke's Gospel we reflect on the problem created by our turning away from God, and His faithfulness in providing a way of redemption - the greatest gift ever given!
