Her work has appeared in The New York Times, Vanity Fair, The New Yorker, Vogue, and many other publications. Her new book, But You’re Still So Young, is out now. In this episode we talk about how this generation is redefining what it's like to be in our 30s. And how a checklist that sociologists created in the 1950s is no longer relevant, or even possible for many. The checklist was: "finish school, leave home, make your own money, marry and become a parent." We talk about how race, class, and privilege play into the ability and desire to meet these old benchmarks. Plus, we cover Kayleen's writing rituals, how they've changed, her advice to writers, and more. Show notes:- Kayleen's new book, But You're

Her methodology is movement in a non-harmful, post-recovery form. We met when I took a class of hers in NYC and have collaborated on events and digital workshops (available here). She's been featured in InStyle, HuffingtonPost, and Well+Good. When she's not working she is snuggling her rescue pup or hiking in the Catskills. In this episode, we discuss communication, patience, bodies, movement, pilates, eating disorder recovery, romantic relationships, and more. Show notes:- Check out Helen's online platform, Helen Phelan Studio- The Support the AAPI Community Fund to #StopAsianHate-
