On a recent drive to visit family, I was listening to dog psychologist Cesar Milan and was fascinated when he shared that dogs in 3rd world countries don't have the behavioral problems we see in more affluent countries. Why?  Because they are hungry.  And that got me thinking about focus and boredom. If you aren't focused on something - if you live your life kinda bored, going through the motions, THAT'S when we see maladaptive behaviors like overspending and overeating. Drama.     I've pointed out to a few clients this week that they are asking the wrong questions. They are solving for the right thing. Most recently, a client said, "I can't figure out why I'm so inconsistent". Wrong question. You're solving for the wrong thing. When you ask why you're so inconsistent, you're looking for evidence to support the problem. What you should be asking is, "How can I be more consistent today?"
