In this last show of January we tackle our new segment called "This month in Spider-History." We travel back 10 years and look at the "re-boot" of 1999. We also discuss Kevin's latest web comic featuring Spidey. And we also answer the dozens of message board questions.

The gang of BD, Spideydude, Kevin, JR and Stella are all together for our first show of 2009. In the show we review Amazing Spider-Man # 579-581,we also discuss Spidey's new single status in the newspaper strip. The gang then tells of their failure to get an Obama Spidey variant comic.

We wrap our conversation with artist Sal Buscema. In this last half hour we answer your written message board questions. Some of the questions range from Sal's thoughts on Amazing Spider- Girl getting canceled, funny experiences at comic book conventions, and why the Hulk is his favorite character to draw.

We continue our interview of legendary Spider-Man artist Sal Buscema. He's joined by writer Tom DeFalco and Ron Frenz as we answer questions live from people around the world. We talk about artistic tips, spider-clones and our favorite female, Spider-Girl!

Our first guest of 2009 is artist Sal Buscema. He just celebrated his 40th year at Marvel Comics. He also holds the record for the longest penciling stint on any Marvel comic. He drew 104 issues straight of the Spectacular Spider-Man title. To honor Sal for this accomplishment we invited a few of his friends along. On the podcast we have Stan Lee, Tom DeFalco, Ron Frenz, Roy Thomas and Danny Fingeroth.

The gang tackles the dozens of message board questions. Some of the highlights discussed include Norman Osborn's rise in status in the Marvel Universe, our favorite Spider-Man comic in the last ten years, and we hear JR do an impression of Jeff Bridges. That is worth the download alone.

The gang also talks about the effects of spreading our favorite character too thin. There's also discussion of a London teen who decided to change his name to "Spiderman" yes, without the hyphen.

We wrap up our two part conversation with Amazing Spider-Girl writer Tom DeFalco and penciler Ron Frenz. We take live callers from around the world. They ask about clones, team ups and killing off Peter Parker? It's another fun interview and starts off with cracking up Ron Frenz, which has to be heard.

Amazing Spider-Girl writer Tom DeFalco and artist Ron Frenz are our guests this month. We talk about the possible cancellation of the book at issue #30. We also talk about what the fans can do to help save the book.

We wrap up our October show by taking your dozens of message board questions. We cover how to introduce comics to women, how we track our comics, and even what we think of the metric system. Don't worry, we discuss a ton of Spidey in the show too!

Writer David Michelinie is our guest this month. He had one of the longest run on Amazing Spider-Man. He co-created Venom and Carnage. He also worked with artist Todd McFarlane, Erik Larsen and Mark Bagley in the 1980s and 1990s. Before tackling Spider-Man he had an incredible run on Iron Man. He gave Tony Stark a drinking problem and a best friend in Jim Rhodes. It's a fun hour long interview.

We answer questions from all around the world. Some are Spider-related, some not. The questions are all over the place, and you never know what the Crawl Space regulars are going to going ask the gang.

We wrap up reviews of the "Kraven's First Hunt" arc and rave about "New Ways to Die." We also discuss the possibility of Ben Reilly coming back in a new Spidey/X-Men mini-series. We also share "Weird" Spider-Man Ebay auctions. Spider-Thong anyone?

We continue our second and last hour with Spider-Man writer J.M. DeMatteis. We answer two pages of our message board questions. We tackle clones, Maximum Carnage and the death of Aunt May just to name a few.

J.M. DeMatteis is our guest this month. If you're a spider-fan you're familiar with his classic, "Kraven's Last Hunt." He also wrote Amazing Spider-Man #400 in which Aunt May died. He was also the writer who had a solid run on "Spectacular Spider-Man." One of his highlights was issue #200 in which Harry Osborn died. As you know all those characters got better, but the way they went out was done by the master.

Back in 1998 I started a website called the Spider-Man Crawl Space, and who knew I would still be with it this long. And back in 2006 we started a little podcast and thousands of listeners later, it too is going strong. We blow out the birthday candles on this show. We also discuss topics like the latest Brand New Day issues, why fans are so fascinated with sales numbers, if Ultimate Peter and Mary Jane should do the horizontal mambo, and the upcoming Venom movie. As if that were not enough we take live callers. Its a fun romp and we celebrate in style!

We wrap up our second hour of our birthday edition of the Crawl Space podcast. We answer a few more live calls and then plow into two full pages of message board questions, some are even Spider-related.
