It was on this very day in history, August 15, in 2006, that this one humble podcast was cast forth into the world, back when the universe was less than half its present size. In the wake of Jodie Whittaker and Chris Chibnall’s mutual decision to leave the good ship Doctor Who we have precisely the sort of pointless speculation, cogitation and puffery you’d expect from three fans with nothing but wisps of info to grasp to, along with some serious digression into the current nature of television, why CBS is still a tedious money machine, action dolly and Big Finish news, and more!  All this and part the first of our commentary for the original Three Who Rule in “State of Decay”! It’s a monumental week of news as Thirteenth Doctor Jodie Whittaker and current showrunner Chris Chibnall announced they will be leaving the show in 2022 after the next (truncated) series and a triplet of specials. What does this portend? Well, endless fannish debate, worry, and fevered hand-wringing to which we will contribute our small portion starting now. Heading back to the present we have a “Mystery” ARG website baffling fans via cryptic conundrums, a tsunami of Big Finish conundrums, convention news, and  an interview with Jess Jurkovic, who transcribes and performs Dudley Simpson scores via piano! It’s San Diego Comic-Con at Home time again, which means all of two panels concerning Doctor Who, one about the quite delightful Missy Comic from write Jody Houser and artist Roberta Ingranata and the other featuring Jodie Whittaker, Mandip Gill, John Bishop and Chris Chibnall! The panel revealed about as much as you’d guess, as did a teaser trailer. In fact the only real information was new cast member Jacob Anderson recently of the Game of Thrones parish is in Series 13. We also discuss the Guardian clickbait article currently making the rounds, dollies, Big Finish, games and, to Warren’s dread, a history of viewing figures! Listen if you dare! In about a week we’ll either learn absolutely nothing or possibly slightly more than that as Doctor Who holds a panel at SDCC@Home featuring Jodie Whittaker, Chris Chibnall, Mandip Gill, new companion John Bishop and a “special guest” (possibly the ghost of Richard Hurndall?) and RFS will be there, at home, in a slightly delayed fashion to cover it. But here in the present there’s audiobooks, a new version of the Doctor Who Role Playing Game, and more catching our attention, along with the final part of our Barry Letts directorial Miniscope, covering “Carnival of Monsters”, “Planet of the Spiders”, and “The Android Invasion”!
