Matthew 23 The Pharisees, as the representatives of the men of Judah, have utterly rejected the authority of God. Instead of producing the good fruit of justice, they spread injustice. Therefore, Jesus pronounces woes against them according to the prophecy of Isaiah. God’s generous compassion and provision is met with self-righteousness, pride, and indifference.
