There's a growing industry of politicians from all persuasions and levels of achievement to write books and give retrospective interviews in order to shape how history will regard them. Is it a noble urge, to ensure history's record is true, or is it fear that if their account isn't recorded and published, then critical views about their political lives and careers will become their legacy?
