It's part of being human, and you can't kill it off. What you can do is make it flexible instead of rigid. Right now it's probably running stiff, defending itself, convincing you that comfort is the same thing as correct. Here's the trap. When you flash out at someone, when you eat the fries on the diet, when you go for revenge instead of growth, that feels right because your ego is chasing comfort, not chasing what's actually good for you. And on the flip side, the moves that could change your life, a new team, a new contract, a new relationship, those feel wrong because your ego reads change as threat. It creates false urgency to get you to bail before you have to sit in the discomfort of doing something real. I give you a simple filter for
