For the Christian, there may be a healthy tension between loving our nation and keeping our highest allegiance to the Kingdom of God.  But we can actually love our nation and be involved in its welfare under the context of loving God's Kingdom and being involved in advancing it in the earth.  Thus, celebrating 250 years of God's grace on the United States of America does not distract from our allegiance to God's Kingdom.  There are many lessons to learn about the Bible's instructions for us to become "dual citizens," or in other words,  loving the nation of your birth while  understanding that we are called to be ambassadors of a better, heavenly country.
