This mix is very personal to me, because if there was no Sizzla, I wouldn’t be a DJ, I wouldn’t love reggae music as much as I do, I wouldn’t know as much about myself and our great ancestors. To put it simple, I would be a different person. I remember many nights at the university of Western Ontario chilling with my good friends Steve or Matthew dealing with some good food, and taking in the biggest Roots Rock Reggae artist Sizzla Kalonji for hours and hours, no movies or tv, just reggae music, and most of the time it was Kalonji. It seemed like every day Sizzla had a new track or full album to take in. This experience lit my love for reggae music… and this flame burns more and more every day, because this music is not just music, its culture.
