Happy December! This week we are unlocking our premium episode from the end of June. We chat with best friend of the pod, Jaran Chance, about our favorite albums of Q1 and Q2. Later this month, Jaran will be back for a sequel and we will rank our favorite albums of the year. 

This week we sit down with electronic music producer, dubstep connoisseur and Eli's brother, Caleb Enis. We talk about new music from Grimes, THNGT, Moor Mother, and fka twigs. Then we discuss where dubstep has gone and its journey throughout the 2010's. 

This week we are joined by Ian Cohen, writer for Pitchfork, Stereogum, The Ringer and beyond. As anyone would when they have Ian on a podcast, we talk about emo! Specifically, we talk about how emo has broken into the critical mainstream and the role Ian had in making that happen. Plus, we discuss the new albums from White Reaper, Turnover, and Greet Death.

We are joined by returning guest, Shawn Cooke to dissect Albums of the Decade lists from outlets like Pitchfork, Stereogum, Uproxx, and more! Plus, we talk briefly about the new albums from Hovvdy, Sammi Lanzetta, and Sean Henry. 

This week we are joined by Sean Neumann of Jupiter Styles. In addition to his solo work, Sean also works as a freelance journalist, and is a member of the band Ratboys. We talk about how he manages both parts of his career, his experiences as a writer, and what his various musical projects help him to express. Plus, we review new albums from Great Grandpa, Amy O, and Camp Howard. Also, fuck this new Kanye album.      

We are joined this week by Katie Cusack of The Collaborative Magazine. We talk to Katie about the controversy surrounding the Amazon Intersect Festival, her work covering the New York Capital Region on a local level, and her piece in the latest edition of Gold Flake Paint. Plus, we talk about new music from Vagabon, Big Thief, Full Body, and Kal Marks.

We are joined this week by DIY jack of all trades Olivia Keasling! We chat about the new albums from Lisa Prank, Chris Farren, and The Menzingers. Then, we talk to Olivia about her experiences working as a tour photographer and selling merch for bands like Origami Angel and Dogleg.

This week we are joined by our friend, writer David Gutierrez. We talk about the new releases from The New Pornographers, Angel Olsen, and DIIV. Then, we debate the differences and specifics of artistic growth, compared to complete reinvention. 

This week we are joined by The Alternative editor Emily Kitchin! We talk about the new albums from Twin Peaks, Alex Cameron, and Microwave. Then, we talk about Emily’s recent interview with Microwave frontman Nathan Hardy, and open up a larger discussion of interviewing artists about sensitive topics.

We are joined this week by music journalist Bineet Kaur to review the new releases from Vivian Girls, Long Beard, The Berries, and Chastity Belt. Plus, we talk about our experiences being music fans living outside major touring markets.

This week we are joined by one of our best friends, Julia Carbone! We talk with Julia about the new albums from Bethlehem Steel, Charli XCX, and (Sandy) Alex G. Then, as Alex G is one of our favorite artists, the three of us go deep into his lengthy discography, and compare it to his newest work. We also mourn the loss of Janet Weiss from the Sleater-Kinney lineup, and discuss new tunes from Vancouver band Necking, Exploding in Sounds new act Philary, and Outer Spaces.
