Knee-jerk reactions to a memorable day at UNH, with thousands of community members from three separate sections of the Seacoast filling Lundholm Gymnasium in Durham for Championship Saturday. In the game of the day, Portsmouth captured its second straight D-I title with a win over No. 11 Dover. Ryan O'Leary, John Doyle and Mike Zhe break down Saturday's action on a late Saturday night edition of the Seacoast Sports Weekly Podcast.

Seacoast Sports Weekly hosts Ryan O'Leary and John Doyle give their rapid reaction to Saturday's high school playoff action — which included four state championship games featuring Seacoast teams. The guys also break down the latest in the Division I boys basketball playoffs. 

We couldn't wait until Monday morning to get the Division I boys basketball tournament pairings from the NHIAA. The guys reveal the 13-team field — which includes all of the Seacoast Five, including a local-local showdown in the first round. Also, sports blast with JD, and PHS girls basketball and UNH tournament talk with Herald sportswriter Mike Zhe.

Part II of the March 3, 2018 Seacoast Weekly Podcast opens with Boston Globe sportswriter Chad Finn, who rejoins the program to talk Red Sox, Bruins and local sports media topics, including Michael Holley's departure from WEEI. Also, SMG's Jay Pinsonnault checks in from his vacation out in Arizona, and a chat with Drew Bonifant of the Kennebec Journal in Maine.

The guys recap the Portsmouth High School boys basketball team's big 60-53 win over Winnacunnet at Stone Gym, among other high school and UNH topics. Local sports broadcaster Justin McIsaac helps break down the local high school playoff scene. 

The guys recap a busy week in Seacoast high school sports,  including the start of the boys and girls basketball playoffs in Maine. Guests include UNH women's hockey coach Hilary Witt and the Portsmouth Herald's Mike Zhe.

The guys lament a missed opportunity for Tom Brady to get his sixth Super Bowl championship, and welcome guest Cody Graham, a senior at Portsmouth High School who recently set the program's all-time scoring mark. 

Portsmouth High School senior Cody Graham joins Saturday's Seacoast Sports Weekly podcast to discuss breaking the Clippers' all-time scoring record this past week. Graham now has over 1,300 points in his varsity career at PHS. 

The guys dive into Super Bowl LII between the Patriots and Eagles with beat writer Kevin Duffy (MassLive.com), who calls in live from the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minn. There were also plenty of wild games from our local high schools, including a pair of down-to-the-wire wins for Winnacunnet and Portsmouth in boys basketball. On the college side, it was a rough week for UNH sports teams. 

Patriots beat writer Ben Volin of the Boston Globe helps the guys break down Super Bowl LII. Other topics include high school basketball rivalry night -- Exeter vs. Winnacunnet and Dover vs. Spaulding -- and all the sights and sounds from the AFC Championship Game, which featured Doyle in the press box and O'Leary on the field.

This week's Seacoast Sports Weekly podcast includes a breakdown of Friday's high school basketball games, an interview with Portsmouth football coach Brian Pafford on his team's merger with Oyster River, America East basketball with Alex Abrami of the Burlington Free Pres ... and, of course, the AFC Championship, which will be covered by hosts Ryan O'Leary and John Doyle in Foxborough! 

Coach Brian Pafford says the proposed high school football merger between Portsmouth and Oyster River is a done deal at the school board level, and could be in effect for the 2018 Division I season with NHIAA approval. Listen to his full interview on Seacoast Sports Weekly podcast here!
