On the 13th and final episode of “From the Panther Pit” for the 2017-18 school year, Editor-in-Chief Rilee Stapleton and Sports co-Editor Jenna Sanders sit down as the year comes to an end. The two talk about the successful year so far in Starr’s Mill athletics. At the end of the episode, Rilee interviews Athletic Director Shane Ratliff. The 2017-18 school year has led to many changes in the athletic department at Starr’s Mill, and many new expectations have been set.

Why? Why not? We may have some unpopular opinions about the best types of cereal, but you’ll just have to listen and find out.

The two talk about tennis, baseball, lacrosse, soccer, and golf. The episode also includes an interview with sophomore golfer Luke Phillips.

This is “Real Talk.” On this podcast, Features co-Editor Abri Hausman and Staff Writer Sophia Bender sit down to talk about heteronormativity -- the art of society erasing the LGBTQ+ community because its not “needed.” Media likes to depict most characters as heterosexual or “straight” because many see that as the “default” sexuality, and that's a real problem.

On the tenth episode of “From the Panther Pit” for the 2017-2018 school year, Sports co-Editor Jenna Sanders and Arts and Entertainment co-Editor Dana Gould join forces to discuss spring sports mid-season. Topics include soccer, baseball, lacrosse, tennis, and track and field around the Mill. Also included is an interview with senior Makira Walton from the varsity girls' soccer team.

On the ninth episode of “From the Panther Pit” for the 2017-18 school year, Sports co-Editor John Webb joins Editor-in-Chief Rilee Stapleton to discuss spring sports at Starr’s Mill. The two cover lacrosse, soccer, tennis, baseball and golf, while giving an update on the Director’s Cup standings.

This is “Real Talk.” Staff Writers Sophia Bender and Liza Eubanks sit down to discuss why mini-cupcakes are a thing. Cupcakes are already a smaller version of cakes for one person, so why make them smaller? We don’t know what their purpose is and that’s a real problem.

On this school year’s eighth episode of “From the Panther Pit,” Sports co-Editor John Webb joins Editor-in-Chief Rilee Stapleton to recap the end of winter sports and preview the beginning of spring sports. The two discuss basketball, tennis, lacrosse, soccer, and baseball around the Mill.

In the seventh installment of “From the Panther Pit,” Sports co-Editor John Webb and Editor-in-Chief Rilee Stapleton discuss a state wrestling champion while also covering the basketball region tournament and previewing the first round of state basketball playoffs this Friday. They also introduce spring sports, as the two discuss the kick off of the soccer, baseball, and lacrosse seasons.

In their opinion, teachers, parents, and the students themselves can all be to blame. No matter who is at fault, students failing a class is a real problem.

In the sixth episode of “From the Panther Pit,” Sports co-Editor John Webb and Editor-in-Chief Rilee Stapleton cover the recent county championship for the swim team, while discussing both basketball teams as their seasons wind down. Senior point guard Jake Bishop joins the podcast to discuss the boys’ recent success.

On the fifth episode of “From the Panther Pit” for the 2017-2018 school year, Sports co-Editor John Webb and Editor-in-Chief Rilee Stapleton sit down to discuss winter sports at the Mill. They talk swimming, wrestling, and basketball. The podcast also includes an interview with Alice Anne and Drew Hudson, the brother-sister tandem taking over basketball at Starr’s Mill.

On the fourth episode of “From the Panther Pit” for season three, Sports co-Editor John Webb joins Editor-in-Chief Rilee Stapleton to talk cheer, cross country, football, and basketball. The two also sit down with junior cross country runner Nick Nyman to talk about the team’s recent state meet and Nyman’s individual state championship this year at Carrollton, Ga.

This is “Real Talk.” Staff Writers Abri Hausman and Ashton Long sit down to talk about the disadvantages of the American college system and why free public college is beneficial. In their opinion, free college allows better attendance, better jobs, and a better future, but sadly colleges care more about GPA, test scores, and desirable talents than a student's drive and motivation. And that's a real problem.

This is “Real Talk.” Staff writers Luke Bennett and Kyle Soto sit down with math teacher and varsity girls’ soccer coach John Bowen to discuss the inaugural Atlanta United soccer season. They overview the season, highlight players and coaches, and provide thoughts on what the future holds for the team.
