Welcome back. I hope the previous episode inspired you to do more public speaking. I think once you have a system down for how to prepare and present, your confidence will skyrocket. Today we will continue training on this topic. Today we are continuing with Part 2 on the topic of public speaker training, dealing with you as a presenter, your content and your audience. Last time we talked about the importance of preparation and how to prepare. As a review… we talked about our attitude, skills and preparation. We discussed the importance of opening impact and how to craft it. The content itself has 3 parts. The introduction, the body and the conclusion. With your INTRODUCTION your audience gets to know who you are, why you're qualified to speak to them, and that THEY are going to benefit you’re your presentation. Here you set the scene by telling your audience what you are going to tell them. Within the BODY, you will organize your core material into key points - remember, keep it to four or five main points.

Today we are talking about how to get prepared for public speaking. This is a really important topic for us as Christian life coaches because we want to make the most of our speaking opportunities. And, there are coaches, whose primary method of delivering coaching, is to do so before an audience. I am one of those rare people who actually enjoy public speaking. It wasn’t always that way, but now I look forward to sharing my message with lots of people. I don’t think I am a great speaker but when I get in front of a group, my talk just flows out of me. Some people refer to this as anointing. But I definitely think it’s God because without a sense of purpose to my talk, it’s just so much noise… and even bores me. So that said, I think knowing your PURPOSE deeply is a key ingredient to being comfortable. Make sure that your PURPOSE compels you to share … knowing that some part of God’s plan may be left incomplete if you don’t get your message out. I believe many life coaches would agree that the single most difficult task is getting your client motivated to act.  This is no different for Christian life coaches. This could be seen as strange since a client hires a coach because they want change and coaches are change agents. There are many reasons clients don’t take the actions that lead to the results they want and it is important to explore those. Welcome to the Christian Coaching School Podcast.  I have wanted to do this podcast for quite some time but it had to be the right time. If you are in my inner circle, you may be aware I have been busy writing the 2nd edition of my book, the Comprehensive Christian Coaching Handbook, Essential Guide to Spirit-Led Coaching and Business Success.  whew … long name …   The first edition was actually published back in 2009 and at that time it was a manifesto of sorts.  Prior to my book, Christian coaching had been taught almost the same as secular coaching, but scripture was added for the Christian audience. And … you and I both know what happens when you add random scripture to validate your secular point.  It becomes far LESS about what God wants and MORE about what a person wants.
