The year is rapidly closing but here's one more episode before 2019 hits. This one is a look at some of the shows played on 12/27 over the years. As such, I thought I might put together something to accompany the gradual warming, a little mix to go along with the first open-window days of the season. Plus, I did promise you kind and patient listeners a shot of good old Grateful Dead. Wait no more. This mix reaches back 50, 40, and 30 years to 1968, '78, and '88 for material. The tracks range from jams to cowboy songs and it hangs together despite the disparate eras represented. After the music, I do spend a few minutes detailing where the cuts come from so as to provide a little bit of context. So pull back the curtains, throw up the sash, crank the stereo and get on down. We've got a special and unusual episode for you this time around. I had the great fortune to join my good friend and head of Osiris, RJ Bee, at a Golden Gate Wingmen show late last month. The show, at The Hamilton Live, was the kick-off for a short tour and it was a blast. To make things even more exciting, we got to meet and interview the band. Jeff Chimenti (keys, vocals), John Kadlecik (guitar, vocals), Jay Lane (drums, vocals), and Reed Mathis (bass, vocals) were friendly, forthcoming, and entertaining. You'll hear our interview with the band and about an hour's worth of tunes from the show in this episode. Thanks to RJ Bee for making the interview happen.
