We’ve been looking at how alien the ethics of Jesus can be to our human reasoning. But as Jesus presented himself in his earthly form as a man with a different ethos, God has consistently presented himself in surprising ways, showing up when least expected. This Sunday Robin is spoke out of Exodus 3 on Moses’ encounter with God in the burning bush as the God who intervenes.

This week in the second part of our series Strange Ways, we dive into the story of the woman with the alabaster jar who came to Jesus with a show of love and worship so extraordinary that it made even his disciples take exception to it. But when we find out what caused this woman to approach Jesus with such demonstrative love, we realize that it wasn't strange at all but it was totally reasonable!

What do followers of Jesus believe? How are they supposed to act? And what is it we that we hope for? If we take a look at the words of Jesus in the Gospels and the apostle Paul (in his letters in the New Testament), we can see a clear and distinct path for how to live as Christians in the modern world.
