Bobby Richards, the podcast's best-door neighbor, came over for some sugar and discussion. Erin was waylaid with a voice-stripping cold, so Bobby and Tyler got to have some boy time talky talks all about the Death Daisy (TM 2016). From there we learn about the biggest controversy you've ever heard of, and a very grow-y tree.

Rabbit Hole's hardest get Molly Miller tuned up with us to start a new year with culture and class as we discussed a classic opus for refined bros. From there we pursued our own delicate tastes, hitting such heights as requiems, bowdlerization, and the Muppets.

We did it! We traveled through space and time to a point similar to, and yet very different from, the one where we started out. A temporal rabbit hole, if you will. Just a quick thank you to all of our wonderful guests, and also to you, our fabulous and brainy listeners. Classic dame Maddie Byrne joined us for the last episode of our first year of recording!* We started with a small monastic institution in Washington. From there we learned about the man who made the mutts, air hunger, and more of the wacky wacky Slavoj Zizek.   *Tyler realized after recording this episode that the 52nd episode is not equivalent to the anniversary of the 1st episode. That would actually be the 53rd episode. But whatever, we're still taking it.

The doctor returns! Ron Harvey is headed to Bulgaria, but not before we sit down and talk about a South Korean educator. From there we learned about Shakers, Cossacks and Post-Modernity. NO BIG DEAL.

Babushka's dream Rose Boyle joined us to talk about a majestic temple with an unexplainably great name. From there we discussed the mystic cores of the world, ourselves, and the saints. Plus Rose said something at the end in Russian and we legitimately don't know what it was.

Cheerful every-friend Cat Abood came aboard the podcast to talk about Her Majesty's Ship Gleaner. From there we learned about the Big Apple, horrible horrible exploitation, and pirates! PIRATES!

Mahalo mahero Zach Dimond joined us for discoveries of a lot of great band names, all inspired by a small town in Kenya. From there we learned about the African Great Lakes, life in high places, and amazing women in history.

We have our first return guest! Lisa Burton joins us to talk about a man of science who helped pioneer taking things out and shifting things around in the human body. From there we learned about Tony and Tina's Wedding, a super cool woman of philosophy, and the briefest iceberg tip of the Byzantine empire.

Mermaid Becca Taubel washed in to talk with us about a stuffy old railroad idea. From there we got HOT with talk about the Tudors, polyandry, and a monarchical paradise.

We sat down with the man most likely to be cast as a teen-aged super hero, Adam Schreck, to discuss the production wing of a family empire. From there we learned about chests that don't quit, sweet sweet street skating, and deadly deadly snakes.

Famed genius Matt Young looks over the filmography of Aussie actor Kevin Harrington with us. From there we learned about the unofficial anthem of Australia, cave animals and honorary degrees.

The nastiest Nash-Villain, Scott Elam, tunes with us on a two-stringed Chinese instrument. From there we learned all about hybrid animals, variations on rock-paper-scissors, and a lot of flavortext about donkeys.

Understated celebrity Adal Rifai created comfortable space with us as we discussed an aspect of the Arabic language that goes beyond "Thank You". From there we learned about an ancient empire with an ancient poet, what goes into Black Forest cake, and the most narcissistic side-kick in Hollywood.

Jonah "Do Anything" Cooper chatted with us about an Armenian-Azerbaijani peace treaty, and from there we kept chatting all over the place. From famous Iranian pop stars to Information Theoretic Death to the inventor of the Armenian alphabet, we really learned a lot about a lot. Great conversation starters for your next blind date!

The winsome Wanjiku Kairu joined us to start off on a journey, all inspired by a quite nice old furnace in Pennsylvania. From there, learn of the wonders of shire composition, pretzels, and for the first time, the lost colony of Roanoke.

Lover of manatees and matinees (the second is an assumption), Anneliese Toft sat down with us to review the classic 2003 film Lost Treasure. The Bears' biggest Cubs fan, Scott Goldstein, took time from behind home plate to talk with us about the Romans' goddess of love. From there, we learned of the disappointing facts of Gertrude Stein, a famous Roman satire involving incontinence, and garbage people around the world.
