Therefore
19/03/2017 Duração: 16minMarch 19, 2017 by Pastor Jeff Alexander Romans 5:1-8 You’ve been made right with God through faith in Jesus Christ. Now what? That’s what “therefore” is all about. In Romans 5:1-8, the Apostle Paul shows how peace with God is the outcome of your justification. Not only does this peace fill your present days, but it also extends into the future. Since you’ve been made right with God, even when you’re going through times of suffering, you can live with the certainty that He is present with you and has in store for you a future glory that surpasses anything this world can ever give. How do you know that God will never abandon you? Look to Jesus! Visit us at moconnect.org!

Under Cover
12/03/2017 Duração: 15minMarch 12, 2017 by Pastor Jeff Alexander Romans 4:1-8,13-17 As the Apostle Paul teaches what it means to be made right with God (justified) by faith alone, he seeks to show how this teaching is nothing new. The Old Testament believers--such as Abraham and David--also believed and taught the same thing. We are not saved by doing what the Law commands; the Law only brings wrath. Instead, we are made right with God by the promise of grace (the Gospel), which makes us heirs of life and children of the heavenly Father. This Father covers us in the mercy of His Son, Jesus Christ, and guarantees that we have a place in His forever family. Visit us at moconnect.org!

Parallel Pattern
05/03/2017 Duração: 15minMarch 5, 2017 by Pastor Jeff Alexander Romans 5:12-19 Paul provides a parallel pattern between Adam, the first man, and Jesus, the only Savior, in his writing in Romans 5:12-19. As we begin the season of Lent, focusing on our great need for our Savior, our readings will help us to see Christ alone as the remedy for our brokenness. Through His death and resurrection, Jesus takes us who are dead in sin and makes us alive in Him. Journey into God’s Word today as we seek to know Jesus and make Him known. Visit us at moconnect.org

Interrupting Jesus
26/02/2017 Duração: 19minFeb. 26, 2017 by Pastor Jeff Alexander Matthew 17:1-9 God is doing an amazing thing in the transfiguration of Jesus--revealing His glory to Jesus’ disciples and giving them a picture of heaven. But old Peter can’t keep himself from talking...and interrupting Jesus! The voice of the Father breaks through and gets Peter’s attention (and ours, too!). The Father shows us who exactly this Jesus is and how He expects us to respond to Him. Maybe we all have a little Peter inside of us, don’t you think? How might we be interrupting the work God is trying to do in our lives and in our world? How do we need to be interrupted by God’s Word so that we can be focused on what truly matters? Great Expectations
19/02/2017 Duração: 18minFeb. 19, 2017 by Pastor Jeff Alexander Matthew 5:38-48 As Jesus teaches us in the Sermon on the Mount, He expresses God’s great expectations for our lives. We are to be perfect in all that we think, say and do. This Law of God serves as a mirror, showing us how we have failed to do what God commands and need to be rescued from our sin. Jesus’ words point us to Himself: the only substitute and Savior for sinners. The greatest gift you will ever receive is Jesus, who died to make you holy in God’s sight. In Christ, we have been reclaimed as children of the heavenly Father and set on a path to delight in His commands--not in order to earn God’s favor, but because we already have it! Choose Life
12/02/2017 Duração: 19minFebruary 12, 2017 by Pastor Jeff Alexander Deuteronomy 30:15-20 The Lord chooses His people by grace! In response to His saving work, we are called to “choose life,” realizing that the Lord Himself is our life, as we read in Deuteronomy 30:15-20. Today’s message helps us to see how God’s commands are not burdensome, but actually gracious invitations for us to share in the blessings He has prepared for us. By loving the Lord, listening to His voice, and holding fast to Him, we will be filled with the true and lasting “prosperity” that this world can never give. Visit us at moconnect.org!

Lightly Salted
05/02/2017 Duração: 16minFebruary 5, 2017 by Pastor Jeff Alexander Matthew 5:13-20 Jesus blesses His followers. He makes us righteous in His sight. Jesus blesses His followers so they will be a blessing to others. He calls us to live righteous lives so that our words and actions will give witness to Him. That’s what Jesus is getting at in His Sermon on the Mount when He calls His people “salt” and “light.” The life of a Christian is never lived for oneself; it’s always lived for the benefit of others so we may lead many souls to glorify our God and trust in His Son. Love Mercy
29/01/2017 Duração: 18minJanuary 29, 2017 by Pastor Jeff Alexander Micah 6:1-8 In today’s message, Pastor Jeff walks us through the words of Micah 6:1-8, as the Lord puts His people on trial for their unfaithfulness to Him. In His great mercy, the Lord forgives the failures of His people and makes them righteous in His sight. Those who are made righteous by God’s mercy in Christ Jesus will then “love mercy” and work for justice for their neighbor as they walk in humility with their God. Visit us at moconnect.org!

Before Christmas: Open the Door
19/12/2016 Duração: 17minDec 18, 2016 by Pastor Jeff Alexander Matthew 1:18-20 Today’s message looks at how Joseph responds to the trouble in his family life. Mary is pregnant, and the child is not his. She says the baby is the Holy Spirit’s, but that's impossible for him to believe--that is, until the Lord intervenes. Joseph learns how to open the door, by the power of the Spirit. We do the same when Christ comes into the doors of our hearts and we learn to open the door to one another. Visit us at moconnect.org!

11/12/2016 Duração: 15minDec 11 2016 by Pastor Jeff Alexander Isaiah 35:8-10 Highway construction takes a long time, doesn't it? When the Prophet Isaiah spoke of the “highway” of the Lord, “the Way of Holiness” (35:8), he had in mind the arrival of the Savior hundreds of years into the future. Today’s message helps us to better understand this concept of “holiness” and how Jesus Himself is the Way to God. When we follow this Way, “Zion” is our destination and having God dwell among us is our joy. Visit us at moconnect.org

Before Christmas: Psalm 122
27/11/2016 Duração: 18minNov 27, 2016 by Pastor Jeff Alexander Psalm 122 For the First Sunday in Advent we look closely at these words of Psalm 122, which was sung by the ancients when they went up to Jerusalem to worship the Lord. As we will see, the place where God gives peace becomes the center, the hub, of His people’s lives. Jesus is the center of all, and all words of the Bible find their fulfillment in Him. Only in Him do we find peace, security and prosperity. Visit us at moconnect.org

The Day Is Coming
13/11/2016 Duração: 18minNov 13, 2016 by Pastor Jeff Alexander Malachi 4:1-6 Today’s message looks at the final verses of the Old Testament: Malachi 4:1-6. The Prophet Malachi speaks of the coming “day of the Lord,” both when Christ would come to heal & forgive, and when He will come, on the Last Day, to rule & reign. How do you view the End Times? Does the thought of the Last Day frighten you or comfort you? Pastor Jeff helps us to see that Christians can look forward to this coming Day and know they are resting securely in the “sun of righteousness,” God’s Son, Jesus. Visit us at moconnect.org
