Exhortation means encouragement; but a great deal more. Those with the gift of exhortation change the atmosphere of a room, a church or any environment they touch. Each of us is called to "exhort" one another daily, but those with the life gift of exhortation help others move closer to God's destiny for their lives. Most people think that teaching is an exclusive gift that belongs to a few individuals. In truth, Scripture calls all believers to teach. In fact, Christ's last words to his followers encapsulated the idea of teaching all nations. What does it mean to teach, and how is this different from teaching in the world in which we live? Some insights into this unique gift.

The first life gift we explore is prophecy with its three dimensions. Life gifts are different from gifts of the Holy Spirit mentioned in I Corinthians 12. How does the life gift of prophecy function and how do we know when a word comes from God?

Do you know what your life gifts are? Many are familiar with the gifts of the Holy Spirit, but did you know that the Father also gave gifts to his children that are distinctly different than the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Today, we began a brand new series: Discover Your Life Gifts.

In this final installment of our series, we examine the words Jesus spoke about heaven and hell. Our world has deceived itself with the absurd notion that nearly everyone will arrive in heaven. Jesus taught the opposite. What happens after we die? What are the two throne judgments, and how will they affect every human who ever lived?

Most people think of the resurrection as a past or future event. As a result, few experience the power of the resurrection. Today, I speak about why the resurrection is important in the present. We are no longer slaves to time or the clock. As believers, we are called to live our lives with eternity in mind.

The second purpose for this foundation stone is to transmit authority and power to those called by God to minister. We talk about the key standards God requires for those who minister in His Name.

Most people don't think of Laying On Of Hands as central to the Christian faith, yet Paul lists it alongside repentance and faith toward God. Why is laying on of hands so important? Today, a discussion of how this stone transforms lives.

Paul speaks of baptism(s) in Hebrews 6:1,2 that form every Christian's foundation. In this fourth part of an eight-part series, we discuss the baptism with the Holy Spirit. First, is this "experience" different and unique from becoming born again? What is the biblical basis for the baptism with the Holy Spirit? Do all believers who experience this baptism, speak with tongues? Are the gifts of healing, miracles, and prophecy valid today? Lots to discuss. Join us!

Repentance is the necessary but negative part of the personal salvation experience. Faith Toward God is the positive portion that that completes the transaction. What is faith? How is it different than mental assent? Is there a way to increase faith? An important topic and discussion this morning.

In this final part of our series, we look at the role of thankfulness (gratitude) as a biblical way to open heaven. As humans, we appreciate gratitude when we go out of our way to help someone else. It is appropriate to both give and receive gratitude when circumstances merit it. Gratitude is the acknowledgement that someone else has helped or benefited you. Scripture shares clearly that the gates of heaven open when we genuinely express gratitude for all He has done. We delve deeper in today's message.

In this second of a four-part series on How To Open Heaven, we look at another character trait that causes God to open heaven to us. Mercy is an outward expression of kindness and compassion to those less fortunate. God is both Just and Merciful. How do the two exist together?
