Have you ever wondered where God is, especially when you are struggling with some major problem in your life? "Emmanuel" is God's name that tells people, "God is with us." Jesus Christ met His close followers at a crucial time following His being raised from the dead and He shows them what the Gospel looks like through serving the needs of others. And Jesus shows this by being WITH the disciples.

From doubt to proof to truth. "It's indifference to (higher things) that must be learned." ~ Mark Lilla, as quoted in Timothy Keller's 'Making Sense of God' God said it, "That you may believe", and that settles it.

People die every day. What makes the death of Jesus any different? I am glad that you asked. The death of Jesus makes all the difference in the world...and in eternity.

"I thirst." "It is finished." These last two sayings by Jesus from the cross of His crucifixion show us both the humanity of Jesus Christ as well as His divinity. This is amazing grace. What is your reaction to Him?

Four Women For Christ Fourth Option For Life Where are you on the journey of faith in Jesus Christ?

"He went out, bearing His cross." Powerful words that show us the heart of Jesus for His Father's will and for those He came to save/rescue from the outcome of sin in their lives. Have you considered the cross of Jesus Christ? "For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God." (1 Corinthians 1:18)

Who do you believe Jesus is? A man? "Just" a man? A King? A king of just the Jews? Or is Jesus your King? How you answer this question is key to how you will live your daily life.

Have you ever "judged Jesus"? Whether intentional or not, people think about Jesus Christ and make judgments about Him. In this sermon, we will go back to the first "trial" that Jesus faced, the trial for His own life, and see how the mixed up thinking of the accusers of Jesus is so similar to that which people today often fall into. Have you missed the Truth because you were so busy seeking the truth?

What does it look like to stand on holy ground? Maybe it sometimes looks like the brokenness of Peter as he slips into further betrayal of Jesus, right when the rooster crows. Because at that moment, Peter has finally come to the ultimate end of himself - his strength, his creativity, his reserves, his craftiness - and he is vulnerably exposed. And Jesus knows full well. And Jesus is obedient to the Father's will. And Jesus loves Peter through it.

Do you follow after Jesus only when it is convenient (if at all)? Do you question the teaching of Jesus (through the Bible) with ill-intent in your heart? Have you physically (or mentally) attacked Jesus Christ, in the form of hatred toward a person who is a Christian? This is what denying Jesus looks like. God wants people to recognize this, repent of this, and return to delighting in Christ together.

The Father's Glory. The Work Assignment. The Son's Return. Jesus prayed a prayer at the end of His earthly life and ministry. It is a powerful model for His followers and a poignant reminder of what is truly important for us to consider.

Like the two pillars of Solomon's temple ("Established" and "Strength"), so too the two pillars of Joy and Peace are the reminders to the follower of Jesus Christ of Who God is and what He has done and is doing in the life of the believer. What are you trusting in as your source of victory, especially in uncertain times?
