Released three years after the first movie in 1980 it also came at a time when sequels were almost always inferior to the original. To kick off Caravan Of Garbage in 2026 we've decided to celebrate the release of Star Wars' 49th anniversary. We're talking the original movie as it was first shown in May of 1977 with none of the Special Edition tweaks or even the addition of the title A New Hope which was added four years later. We're looking at the miracle of the movie that started it all, George Lucas' vision brought to life with the music of John Williams, special effects by ILM and the relatively unknown trio of Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill. In 2010 two things were big. 3D films and Sam Worthington, both a result of Avatar from 2009. And whilst that franchise continues on Clash of the Titans (which incorporates both) acts as a time capsule of that era of film making. Also acting as a reboot of the 1981 Ray Harryhausen original movie it pits Perseus, the son of Liam Neeson's Zeus, against the Gods of Olympus including Ralph Finnes Hades who is threatening to release the Kraken on the ever increasingly disgruntled mortals of Greece. Here we are at the conclusion of our Disney's Biggest Bombs series, rounding things out with Tomorrowland from 2015. Brad Bird who made a name for himself with the likes of The Iron Giant, The Incredibles and Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol again delves into live action with an epic tale of alternate dimensions, retro-futurism, robots, jet packs and George Clooney's. Maybe it was too early or maybe it was too late but it didn't make much of an impact upon release despite being a pretty charming and positive adventure.
